When you are summoned to Headmistress Sapphire's chambers, you know a painful interview awaits. Whether you are boy, girl or special girl pupil, she does not discriminate. If you are sent to her to be punished, then you only have yourself to blame.

Imperious and forbidding in her academic gown and mortar board, she does not tolerate any new-fangled politically correct ideas but will deal with your misdemeanours in the old-fashioned way.

Here, corporal punishment is the order of the day and the crook-handled cane reigns supreme, ably backed by the tawse and paddle.

Insolence, disobedience and bad manners have no place in her curriculum and can only lead to a well-deserved leathering. She is of course a firm believer in the
old adage 'Spare the Rod and Spoil the Child.'
